Max Renkel: Score, Form, Two Heads / Schirin Kretschmann, Cyrill Lachauer, Daniel Lergon, David Prytz, Max Renkel, Sarah Ancelle Schoenfeld
Mario Iannelli is pleased to present an exhibition by Max Renkel entitled “Score, Form, Two Heads" from 10 November to 31 December 2020.
The title of the exhibition is a linguistic game that seems to have full sense, but it is obtained by combining terms from different contexts.
With the typical narrative of the cut-up, Renkel presents a group of three works: "Score" which consists of a composition of branches inserted in an empty frame, "Form" the painting of an abstract form and, "Two Heads", two sculptures with primitive features.
"Score, Form, Two Heads" therefore refers to a logical meaning that goes beyond our literal comprehensibility, aspiring to emphasize mainly the creative process.
A conceptual map that it starts from a diagram passes through an image, and it ends in a volume.
What comes to light it is either the centrality of the perceptual process and the methodological one of the work of art.
In this perspective, the choice of including a set of artists works with whom the gallery cooperates, thus sharing proximity of investigation and aiming to extend the reflection through further connections.
An edition featuring texts by Max Renkel and Giuseppe Garrera is part of the exhibition.
Max Renkel (1966, Munich, Germany) lives and works in Rome.
